Who We Are
This Is Football was built out of frustration.
Frustration with outlets that bury the good stuff behind paywalls. Frustration with coverage that feels like it was written by someone who’s never actually stood on a terrace, argued about a formation at half time, or felt that gut-punch when your team bottles it in stoppage time.
We wanted something different. A place that covers football the way fans actually talk about it passionately, honestly, and without taking itself too seriously.
So we built it.
Based in the UK and obsessed with the game in all its mad, beautiful, chaotic glory – from the Premier League to the lower leagues, from transfer deadline day chaos to those random Tuesday night European nights that remind you why you fell in love with football in the first place.

I have been watching football longer than I care to admit and writing about it almost as long.
I grew up in South London, the kind of place where your football club is not really a choice. My dad took me to Selhurst Park as a kid and that was it. Crystal Palace for life, for better or almost always for worse. I have been going ever since.
This Is Football was built on a simple idea. Football coverage should sound like it comes from someone who actually loves the game, not someone filing copy to hit a word count. That is what I try to do with every piece I write here.
I cover the Premier League, European football, transfers, the big debates and the stories that do not always make the front page but probably should. No agenda, no tribalism, no fluff. Just football written the way fans actually talk about it.
When I am not writing about football I am watching it, arguing about it, or thinking about it. There is no off switch. There never has been – although I wish there was sometimes with Palace!
